Oh but it's very true, after barely even a week of release, Valve have confirmed that they will be releasing a DLC#1, they say that this DLC will "Will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more"
Valve have also confirmed that there will be a summer launch window where the DLC in question will be absolutely FREE!! Now surely that's got to be something to look forward too for all your Arperture fans? =)

Minecraft 1.6 Update

Yes, another one! So, me and Homer enjoyed our little game so much yesterday we decided to follow it through, and play another round. The game goes well, this isn't the 20 kills 1 death game I was talking about, that'll come soon. You may be saying, "WAIT, There's a fifth!?". Well, yeah, we didn't stop there because we enjoy making videos for you guys. Some nice sniping involved.

So, had a nice little gameplay session with one of our authors; Darth Homer. Yes, the maps mann manor again, but don't worry about that, worry about the content! It's up to you to judge whether this is bad or not, I think it's just mediocre and I can do a lot better. Anyway, we had enough energy to record two gameplay videos, the second I will be uploading in the morning as I'm too tired. I can assure you the second one is miles better, finishing the game with the first capture point successfully defended, 20 kills and 1 death with most of them being nice headshots. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it. Thanks.

Razer's Hydra Motion

Razer is still remaining 100% committed to PC Gaming, and is bringing out a new hydra-motion controller. It is due sometime in June for £139.99. The bundle will include two wired controllers, a base station and a copy of Portal 2! How about that? The game includes extra exclusive content designed specifically for the controller.

Razer also state that the controller works with 125 other PC games, including Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, CODBLOPS, and Crysis 2. Razer say downloadable configurations will be available with other games. The user can specify their own configurations. Each controller has four buttons, and the base station's sensor can track down to the millimeter/degree. A price for the controller without Portal 2 is yet to be announced.

Now, this 'war' has been going on for some time, and there's no settling it. There will always be people who think PC's are better than Mac's (These people are right), and there will be people who think the opposite.

Now, this site has produced some insights as to the characters and preferences of these different users; http://blog.hunch.com/?p=45344, and I'd like to share some here.

36% of PC people are Liberal, 58% of Mac people are Liberal.
PC people are 10% more likely than Mac people to snack on something sweet.
Mac people are 80% more likely than PC people to be vegetarian.
PC people most prefer McDonald's fries (34%) followed by steak fries (22%)
Mac people most prefer bistro-type fries (40%) followed by McDonald's fries (24%)
PC people prefer websites like "I can has cheezburger?", "Go fug yourself" and "CNN.com"
Mac people prefer websites like "Apartment therapy", "Huffington post" and "Boing Boing"

DICE to play a part in Mass Effect 3?

The Belgian magazine "Chief" shared with us today that "DICE" (Developers of Battlefield: Bad Company 2) will be lending BioWare a hand in the making of Mass Effect 3, they will be working on the guns that will be used in-game, they will be mapping out where the projectiles will land, how loud they will fire, how straight the guns fire and finally, the alteration of the enviroment when the bullet lands.
All in all the guns sound like they will be amazingly realistic, and bloody loud!
Mass effect 3 is set to be released later in the year, hopefully it will be as amazing as the last two. =)

If you ever get really bored (and I mean, really bored - when you see no more meaning in your life and end up looking at numerous 'Lolcat' pictures and videos of people struggling to walk home after a drink night on the town)I strongly advise you to go on this game.

DEFCON

A little game I found where the objective of the game is to completely annihilate the enemy. Appropriately titled "Everybody dies", everybody dies. The aim of the game is simple: cause mass destruction on a global scale by launching nuclear attacks on rival superpowers while, at the same time, protecting your own borders from enemy strikes.

Its as easy to explain as it is to play. But there is a lot of explaining. So, I will let you check it out for yourself.

I'm not sure about pricing, but it will probably be around the £10 mark. I will upload a link to this to steam when I get the chance.

DEFCON is fine testament to an independent developer willing to take a risk by creating games that tackle unusual ideas in thought-provoking, engaging and ultimately entertaining ways. Admittedly, DEFCON's concept isn't original in the traditional sense – the Cold War idea is ‘borrowed’ from the 1983 movie WarGames. Where the game succeeds is in its implementation, with Introversion crafting DEFCON into a compelling gaming experience, ensuring it’s as simple to play as any board game, but still has the depth and fine-tuned game play to guarantee you’ll be playing it for months to come. Very impressive stuff - and it'll only cost you £10 from Steam.

Any die-hard Dragon Age fans out there in dire need of new 'quipment?

To go with the release of the new game (yeah, it's old news now...) Razer have brought out brand new peripherals, and I must say - they look 'bootiful'. Just thought I'd show you them as they do look pretty nice, never been on the game though. Lets hope that the same amount of detail and precision that went into making these went into making the game/s.

Have you ever wondered who these guys actually are? Most people who own a computer has seen indefinitely the guy on the left and possibly the guy on the right. These guys are the mascots for Valve, but has anybody actually found out how they came about?
Flicking through some articles I found out a few things;

"Interesting that you should ask about the bald guy. Back then, the casting agencies we were using to find models only had 'supermodel'-type talent. We kept requesting 'heavy-set', 'normal' models, and they kept sending us 'beautiful', 'thin', 'perfect' headshots to review. So, we finally asked them to just go out on the street and pull 'everyday Joes' who were more 'interesting', 'common', and for the bald guy, 'kinda big, heavy-set, and bald.'"

Thinking back on the model's actual identities, Ueno admits, “It's been very long since we did that work, so we don't know who the models were. And the fact that they weren't professional models would make it very difficult to find them - if not impossible for the bald guy (not facing camera).” (1)

So, we may never find out who these guys are but their legend will be synonymous to the gaming community for generations to come.

Dawn of War II - The Last Standalone

The Last Stand is a gametype that was featured on Dawn of War II. It was very popular among players, it was inevitable that it would become its own game.

The Last Stand is a cooperative survival gamemode in which you have to battle waves of monsters using a single hero. Standalone brings six heroes which you can level up and customize with a range of different wargear that makes your hero different. There are two co-op arenas. Personally, I found the original Last Stand map to be a bit boring.

I'm sure you all know by now of the Oddworld gaming series, the developers behind the two amazing Abe series, ya know? The big blue doofus mudokon? Fought through the Rapture Farms company to save all his buddies?
Well he's back with his new buddy Munch, the one legged Gabbit, who is on a mission to save all his Gabbit friends from becoming extinct from mass hunting for their eggs.
In this installment on the franchise the two have to work together to save their species, I personally loved this game and Steam is selling it for only £4, I can remember sitting there as a child with hours of endless fun with this game on the original xbox. This is seriously worth a look guys, I promise i'll be posting a gameplay tomorrow, just had a busy day =)

Minecraft Demo + 1.5 Update

The update adds a lot of new stuff. Notch has brought out an achievement system, rain, snow, and thunder weather effects, and best of all; any pig struck by lightning will transform into a zombie pig-man. "Igor, It's alive!!".

The demo is 90 minutes long. So build what you can in that time. After 90 minutes the world will be 'locked' and become un-editable. You can create as many worlds as you like... This could mean it's time for a new olympic sport of a building marathon.

Alright, so the recently released hatless update claimed they made the bots smarter. I guess this is a test to see that. The spys are much better as you will see, and so are the pyros, managing to know exactly when I'm going to shoot an arrow at them and them deflect it back and kill me... With a headshot... :( Anyway, connection got interrupted at the end so I decided to call it that.

In the process of uploading another gameplay video on tf2. In the recent hatless update I noticed that valve apparently made the bots a bit smarter, so I decided to test that and it seems that they are :). Spy's are a lot smarter, the pyros know exactly when to blast your arrows back to you, and can get headshots in the process! Anyway, keep a look out for it, it's done about 50% so far and will be on youtube soon.

Alright, third times a charm. The game finally downloaded and I was able to play it for a while this afternoon. After playing 4 games I realized "You know what? I suck.". The game is PvP only, and EVERY single game, I only amassed one kill. Kind of mediocre, I know. This isn't bad, as when you die, you can't respawn, I guess this adds to the realism that lots of games don't have. Luckily for me, this meant I never got a negative k/d ratio. :). So, this achievement on kf has been bugging me for the past few days. You basically have to open a door to Glados' core, and you get the achievement. All of this is for promotion of the Potato Sack bundle for sale on steam. Apparently, it takes maybe 15-30 minutes to un-weld the door. But, not really heeding this notion I attempted to try it on my own and miserably failed. So, in a few minutes I'm going to record a gameplay of an attempt. Look out for the video.
